In 2001 I began a program which ultimately led me to a weight loss of 80lbs. It included eating plenty of low glycemic foods before 8pm and limiting 90% of all sugar and what I called "white" foods such as enriched breads, pastas, potatoes, pastries, pizza dough, sugar, most cereals, grits, popcorn, corn, most prepackaged foods, hashbrowns focusing mainly on whole grains, fruits, almonds, vegetables and lean protein including egg whites, chicken, turkey, pork chop, steak.
I weighed 255 in October 2001 and lowest weight achieved was 175 in December 2003. Unfortunately I have allowed myself to begin eating foods formerly looked at as "off limits" so I have gained back to 220 as of January 2009. So I will include daily what I eat so everybody can see how you can lose significant weight without exercise. Exercise is great and recommended by all but I wanted everybody to know that I lost this weight without exercise.
Hopefully, this will encourage everybody and also provide me with the motivation to stay on course for future heart health. Just because I am on massive amounts of cholesterol medicine does not give me the right to be a slackard!
